The Experience
Whether it is your first child or third child, being pregnant will always be a very overwhelming and emotional experience for any woman. Put your mind at ease and place yourself in the comforting hands of your own personal Doula.

A Doula is an experienced woman who helps other women during labour and childbirth. The concept is not a new one - through the ages women in labour have been surrounded by their mothers, sisters, neighbours or friends; all women who had the same experience with the process of birth and could provide the empathy, support and advice a woman needed. In the last few decades, the way families are spread out; this is no longer a realistic possibility for most. So the concept of a professional Doula was born. She brings a caring heart, a comforting touch and an always growing body of knowledge and experience.

During this amazing Experience, you will receive and enjoy the utmost attention. First there is a consultation visit where your Doula becomes familiar with you, your likes and dislikes, your concerns and beliefs. This visit usually occurs during the 5th to 6th month of pregnancy in order to outline your birth plan.

Approximately one month later, your Doula returns to spend more time with you, discussing methods of delivery and further concerns that you may have. At this point in your pregnancy you can choose to have your arms, breasts, and belly cast in order to preserve those cherished memories. It is an excellent gift to keep in the nursery or to give to your baby when he/she grows up. Eight months is ideal for the casting as it preserves your state closest to the due date – the results are remarkable. Within two weeks prior to delivery, another visit is made where breastfeeding techniques are discussed. If at any time during your pregnancy you have questions or concerns, your Doula will be more than happy to speak to you. As soon as labour commences, your Doula will be at your side reassuring and coaching you. She will remain with you until you first breast feed. Once you are home, your Doula will return for two more visits. During this time, she will address any concerns you have being a new mother with a tiny newborn. During your last visit, you will enjoy an optional lesson on infant massage by LoriAnn Toplak. This form of massage is very important for a child’s growth and development, increases weight, and helps in certain conditions such as colic. It will be a wonderful gift for your baby that you will be able to give over and over again. Vital Information
Julia MacNeil is available anywhere in the GTA and surrounding areas. Julia MacNeil, who brings guidance, sincerity, and understanding to support you with the optimum care, before and after childbirth. Although the package details a set number of visits, Julia is available to answer any questions or concerns while you are in her care. She offers other childbirth services, please take a look at the other Mind, Body, & Soul Experiences or contact us for more information. First appointment will be arranged by Unforgettable Days and subsequent appointments will be scheduled between the client and Doula. Upon your first appointment with your Doula, a contract will be presented that details the services that will be rendered and acknowledges that the client should always relay important information to their Doula (ie. medical conditions). Please contact us to arrange the final appointment that you have with your Doula in order for Unforgettable Days to arrange the baby massage. Please contact us if you wish to add the belly casting to the package, we will arrange the appointment – please add the appropriate reference number to you order form next to the above Experience.

Session Length

• Labour and birth varies in length depending on mother. The Doula will stay with mother throughout entire time.

If this pregnancy is a second or third time around for you and you wish for some extra help taking care of the children while you have any of your visits, please contact us for information regarding our amazing nannies, who will help make this special time that much more relaxing! The first visit with the Doula will be arrange by Unforgettable Days and subsequent visits should be arranged between you and the Doula.

Delivery
All Experiences include Next-Day evening delivery with UPS (registered mail). If you would like a morning delivery time or perhaps on a Saturday, please contact us or mention this on the order form to arrange this service.
